This diner has such a welcoming atmosphere, and our waitress, Teresa, did a fantastic job! She was very friendly and dedicated. I’d love to come here again someday!
We stopped in for breakfast. It was delicious, the waitress was so nice. The homemade bread was the best part.
We did not stay at the motel, we just had a wonderful breakfast at the restaurant. This place is a hidden gem. This place is the type of place where, when I retire, would frequent every morning. It slis a warm and friendly atmosphere. I am sure if you visited more that a few times, they would know you by name. My wife was going to order some oatmeal for breakfast but when she heard that they had homemade bread for toast, she quickly changed her order to include the wonderful homemade bread. I had it as well with my delicious Irish omelette. Did I mention they have homemade bread? Most excellent! Coffee was neverending and definitely hit the spot. Highly, highly recommend. They turn up their game there to 11.
Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered corn beef hash. It came with HOMEMADE bread. The corned beef was homemade, as well as the shredded hashbrowns with onions. Someone next to us had biscuits and gravy, which looked amazing and homemade. The waffle was homemade too. The hash could've used more corned beef, but I hate to complain because the food quality was so high. This place is ran by a very friendly lady. The restaurant was extremely clean. The cook obviously takes pride in the cooking. You can taste the love. Definitely recommend.
Why have we waited so long to try this place? Let me start by saying that they have a full salad bar folks!!! This is almost unheard-of post C-word! It's like a salad bar right out of the 90's and is wonderful. All you can eat soup and salad bar is an option for a decent price. There are plenty of options and even dessert options. Listen, I have been missing REAL authentic 90's style salad bars, and I am so excited to have found this one. Ok, So everyone else in my party of 4 ordered entree's. One dinner entree came with the salad bar and soup which was a bonus! The food was fantastic! 3 of us ordered pie and were unimpressed, but we'll be back for the other food and the salad bar of course! This is real Homemade food, worth its weight in gold in this day and age!
Our favorite “food place” East of Marquette. Homemade salad bar, soup, bread. Whitefish Friday is a huge draw. A Michigan treasure that is only 45 minutes from the bridge and in the way to the “Falls”.
Diner was far better than I expected! Is it a bit dated? Sure, but what in the U.P. isn't. I'll say though, it is probably the cleanest diner I've seen in at least a decade. The bread is homemade, portions are right-sized, and even when packed the food comes quick. Worth a stop if you are passing through.
Food was absolutely delicious! Homemade bread and pancake batter! Must stop in and eat here when in the area. Our server was great also!
